Working in a variety of mediums, John renders his subjects with an architect’s eye for structure and composition combined with an artist’s use of color and emotion. The images often use a title to spark the viewers imagination and tell a story.
John’s artistic background started in high school helping in the execution of large-scale murals for interscholastic competitions. Subsequently, in his job, or commissioned work, he has done other murals and renderings. Formal art training has included attendance at Columbus College of Art and Design, Ohio State University School of Architecture, the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, and Art Space of Lima.
John and his wife Bonnie now reside in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He currently works as a project architect for the firm of Garmann-Miller and Associates in Minster, Ohio. His artwork has been exhibited in several Columbus-area art galleries and juried shows including the Art Space and Lima Spring Art Show.
John believes that art can benefit all who choose to participate. The positive interaction between the creation and interpretation of art gives us all a new Window from which to view our world.
